PETRIFIED LOG JAM

Tyler read about a petrified log jam in Zion’s Park so we decided to hike to it today. We stopped in Springdale first for some lunch and to stop at a wildlife refuge. The city is just starting to come back to life now that the cold winter months are over.

Right before I took this picture Zoe told the cow to smile. It had a tongue that slipped right up into each nostril. Zoe thought that was a neat trick and tried it herself. Thankfully hers doesn’t quite reach!
Is anyone else amazed at how huge a buffalo’s head is?
The petrified log jam.

We hiked about 4 miles (round trip) to the petrified log jam and this alcove. There was a spring dripping like rain. My girls loved it….there is just no way to keep kids out of water or mud.
